Fairy tale

Fairy Tale? So, um, a young girl leaves her charming cottage, walks through a tunnel, and exits into a maze of nightmarish characters and ends up in a very weird-looking place? Maybe I'm unfamiliar with the tale being told?

Most artistic. Your shading accentuates the mysterious quality. The giant stone heads put ordinary garden gnomes to shame.

These were taken at a rather creepy and run-down theme park in Perugia, Italy. I wasn't thinking of a particular or known story, but certainly the elements that these stories hold, of entering another world, fear and mystery, isolation, and the surreal (such as towns populated by animals), allow one to make up strange new narratives for these shots.

I love your second photo! Beautiful though it is, the poor child probably has no notion of what awaits him/her on the other side. Of course, sleeping can be like that if we have strange dreams.

Great photos. I think we've all been to those run down theme parks that are well past their "use by" date.

The little cottage has a bit of that "Hansel and Gretel" feel to it. And we all know what was going on there!

What took you to Perugia? I've always wanted to do a language course there.

I hope this finds you and yours doing well. May we display your header on our new site directory? As it is now, the site title (linked back to its home page) is listed, and we think displaying the header will attract more attention. In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.
