Looking at the weather I think I'd be in the cabin with gran, reading my book.

It does look awfully chilly & damp. Give me plenty of sunshine & a warm beach! Interesting little beach houses though.

Those piers are so typical of English beaches, aren't they? I guess it's because the sea goes so far out at low tide, unlike here in Aus.

I hadn't heard of hagstones until today. I had to google them to find out more.

I love the row of cabanas -- very cute -- but awfully jam-packed together. Are they mobile? Could you move one to a different place, like near the water on the beach?

Glad you made it! Love these photos, and I must say, I'm a firm believer in keeping spikes away from "groynes".

Great lines, colours and angles. A real treat on this cold, miserable Ontario day.

P.S. I also loved the "Squeeze" - such a good song that takes me back.

I wonder if people ever sat in the cabannas and watched the tide roll in. and if they were trapped.

The kind of beach days us Aussie associate with the UK :) I'll bet the water was even colder…brrr

Love the colorful cabanas ~

I'm getting to the age that sitting inside a cabana wrapped in a wool blanket and watching the waves seems strangely appealing. Don't fancy stumbling onto spikey groans.

I'm familiar with using flat stones to play ducks and drakes by skimming them over the water, I thought hagstones had a hole through them and wouldn't be so effective - I shall have to try if I find any.
