In the Future

This week's somewhat mindbending theme is Future. Herewith, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, Firenze, Italia, completed in 1360. And here we are in the future that none of the Dominicans involved in its building could have foreseen, restoring it to the condition it had in the past.

Your post and your photo are Theme Thursday perfection. We are the future, indeed.

Well done!

Happy TT and Happy New Year!

very neat capture...you have to wonder those that build what eventually became monuments...did they have any inkling...

What a cool photo. It never occurred to me to snap a picture of a landmark when it's covered with scaffolding. I was in India back in 2007 and frowned because the Temple-of-the-something-or-another was covered with bamboo scaffolding. Now I wish I had taken that picture. Live and learn!

It is funny how we do not think so much about our past being connected to our future or our future connected to our past, but then we also do not realize that our present is soon to be our past but never our future. Okay, now I am confused.

Really cool picture to share with us for this weeks Future Theme Thursday, I would have never thought of it. Yup, very nice.

Hope you have a Happy New Year.

God bless.

Such a great idea, growing up I always had the notion that the future would be far removed from the present day or even the past. It is by visiting Europe that I realised that we live with the past. Great idea.
